Feature Film Script: Teardrop

When it comes to Hollywood, ideas are king. From blockbuster hits to indie darlings, every great movie or TV show starts with a spark of inspiration that captures the imagination of writers, producers, and audiences alike.

A while back, I decided to start a section in the Pogona Creative website to list movie ideas and feature length scripts written by many different authors. Today, we are adding a new feature length script called “Teardrop” to the narrative filmmaking page. Teardrop is a feature film script intended to be directed in the style of Alfred Hitchcock about a couple who are kidnapped by a devious killer while they are camping in their teardrop camper.

But why are ideas so important in Hollywood? Simply put, they're the currency that drives the industry forward. Without fresh, exciting concepts, studios and networks would have nothing to greenlight, no scripts to option, and no stories to tell. That's why writers, producers, and other industry professionals are always on the lookout for the next big idea that will capture audiences' attention and bring in big box office or ratings numbers. Even when it feels like Hollywood just recycles existing intellectual property into endless new stories, new ideas are still in high demand.

What other movie ideas are on the website?

  • Jules and Verne - a fan fiction script that could be the sequel to the Back to the Future trilogy.

  • Fetch - a feature film script based on the short film “Fetch” which screened at more than 50 film festivals internationally.

  • Vinepire - a slapstick horror comedy about wine tasting.

  • Much more!
